Marrying into the Military - I met my soul mate, about 17 years ago at a coffee shop in our hometown. At the time I was a senior in high school and he was working the family business.  In 1993 Danny joined the Army and we were married just a few months later making me a Real Army Wife! Since then, we have lived the "typical" (if you can call it that) Army life.  

Like most military families, we have endured, unaccompanied tours, deployments, extensions, overseas duty assignments, lots and lots of TDY (temporary duty), separations due to schools, and more.  Despite the challenges of this lifestyle, we have found that there are many benefits as well.  We have been able to travel to parts of the world we otherwise would not have. (Granted Danny could have done without a few of them, but still great experiences for us both.)  We have also added four amazing children into our family who get to experience the ups and downs of  military life.  We have made some terrific friends along the way and we enjoy the sense of pride and patriotism that comes with this lifestyle.  We still have a few years to go before Danny retires and we all transition into the "civilian world", so for now we just try to make the most of each day of this "Army life".
