John Wayne Stetson came in dirty and the cord was blue , bled over from hat. It was a good thing I ordered an extra cord.
When looking at this Stetson, I didn’t realize that it would come with a “worn” look. While the Army does not have a clothing directive for the Stetsons, there is a memorandum in place that says the Stetson should be clean; this Stetson does not have that clean look. However, I love how it looks, fits and feels. The sabers, flight wings and rank look so good on this. It came with the gold braid, but i put the cardinal red braid on it that represents a medic. I think it’s really nice looking!

I looked and looked for my original Cav Hat from my time in the Air Cav at Fort Drum and couldn’t find. I had a crappy knockoff for years that didn’t fit right. Just received my “John Wayne†weathered Stetson with my 3/17 Aviation pins and I love it! Out Front Cav Hooah! ðŸ¤
